Finding the Right Size/Fit
It is of the utmost importance that you love wearing each garment that you purchase from thecheekybean.com just as much as we love seeing you in it! We are always here to assist you in finding clothing that both fits you well and flatters your body type.
The clothing that you are seeing here at thecheekybean.com is what is known as contemporary clothing, and sizing is contemporary as well. Typically, a small is the approximate equivalent to a 2/4, a medium to a 6, and large 8/10. At this time we do not carry any plus-sized clothing. However if an item runs large or small, we will note this under the details portion of each garment. Also found underneath the details portion of each garment, you will find measurements that were taken for that particular product. The way that we measure each item is by laying it on a flat surface and taking a soft measuring tape and measuring across only the front, in inches. To arrive at something similar to your measurements, simply take our measurements and double them.
To take measurements for your own body, here are some guidelines and tips. It is always easier to have someone else there to assist you if possible!
Bust: Now don’t be modest with this one-it requires you to get a little personal. To arrive at your bust measurement, wrap a soft tape measure around your bust line at the fullest part of your chest. Make sure you are standing naturally with your heels together and arms resting by the side of your body. Position the tape so that it covers the widest part of the back and the fullest part of the chest. This is where it comes in handy having a friend there to assist. Be sure and write your measurements down!
Waist:In order to accurately arrive at your waist measurements, place your hands at your natural waistline-this is where the tape should be positioned. If you can not find your natural waist, stand with your feet slightly apart and bend to the side. Where your waist creases is the natural waist- Now, don’t cheat and suck in because that won’t give an accurate measurement. Measure around your natural waistline but make sure you keep the tape measurer parallel to the ground to get an accurate measurement. Write this down as well!
Hips: Embrace your curves gals, we’ve all got ‘em so you might as well flaunt ‘em! Take a tape measure and wrap around the fullest part of your hips (we know, we hear your sighs from over here) all the way around your bottom. Again make certain that you are keeping the tape parallel to the ground-this can be hard to do so we suggest if you are doing this without a friend, do this in front of a mirror. Remember write down this measurement as well!
Inseam: What you are measuring here is the distance from the uppermost inner part of your thigh to the bottom of your ankle. Take your favorite and best fitting pair of pants-they shouldn’t be too loose around the waist, and measure from the seam in the crotch all the way to the bottom of the leg. Last one ladies, write this down and you are all set!!
